Recently, conjugated polyelectrolytes (CPEs) have shown for use as a new class of organic semiconductors, due to a variety of optoelectronic applications. Especially, water-soluble polyfluorene (WPF) derivatives have been previoulsy reported for interfacial layer in polymer solar cells. The ionic of functionalities of these polymers can effectively induce interface dipoles, resulting in tuning work function of the metal electrode and provide water-solubitliy, resultign in multilayer. Consequently, WPF polymer led to change open-circuit volatage (Voc) and eventually affect device efficiency in the photovoltaics. Based on these motivation, we synthesized novel WPF derivative, with ionic functionaliites to induce dipoles, by palladium catalyzed Suzuki coupling. In addition, we investigated the tuning of work function of the metal electrode by Ultraviolet Photoexcitation Spectroscopy (UPS). Finally, we will present the optoelectronic device performance using our WPF materials. |
