Enhancement of electrical conductivity in immiscible polymer blends by carbon-based fillers |
초록 |
Electrical conductivity can be improved in polymer blends by electrically conductive fillers. CNTs are one of the most promising fillers because of their superior mechanical and electrical properties over other fillers. The selective localization of CNTs in a continuous polymer phase or at the interface of immiscible polymer blends has been extensively studied because it is an easy strategy to increase the electrical conductivity of the polymer blends. Here, the selective localization of CNTs in immiscible polymer blends with compounding sequences will be presented. The immiscible blend prepared by mixing CNTs and incompatible polymer, followed by blending with CNT-preferred polymer, showed a higher electrical conductivity since the CNTs in the incompatible phase transferred as individual rods rather than as agglomerates into the preferred phase. The individual CNTs then were uniformly dispersed in the preferred phase by a proposed mechanism “filler-transfer-induced dispersion”. |
