Natural lignin, lignocellulosic biamass, is a tridimensional biopolymer which comprised of numerous aromatic compounds and it could be used as a petroleum substitues by decomposing into a simple aromatic compound. There are many types of selective degradation method has been developed such as chemical, biochemical and pyrolysis. However, these methods are inefficient or requires much energy or emits toxic byproducts. Photocatalytic process is one of promising way to obtain aromatic compound from natural lignin. Here, we investigated the photocatalytic lignin degradation using plasmonic Au nanoparticles and visible light. Consequently, new type of organic compound were produced and we characterized the resultants using various analytical tools like optical spectroscopy, chromatography, and NMR. |
