Nanoparticle systems for the delivery of drugs or image contrast agents are of interest due to their intrinsic advantage of the size, known as an EPR effect. We prepared non-fouling pluronic-based nano-carriers with an enhanced stability by one pot, aqueous phase photo-crosslinking of diacrylated pluronic without using an organic dispersion phase. Using the thermo-sensitive volume change of the nano-carriers, target drugs including proteins and nano metals can be easily loaded with a high efficiency and capacity. To control physico-chemical properties of nano-carriers, including size, surface charge and surface functionalities, nano-carriers were prepared by different kinds of pluronics and the surface was modified. In vivo tumor targeting of nano-carriers were characterized, and the effects of physico-chemical properties of nano-carriers on tumor targeting efficiency were analysed. Also, nano-carriers loaded with gold nanorods absorbing light in NIR region were applied for simultaneous molecular imaging and photothermal cancer therapy, and the enhanced photo-thermal effects were obtained by using these nano-carriers. |
