Properties of cerium-doped zinc borophosphate glasses |
초록 |
Cerium oxide is generally added to glass as an optical property modifier. Cerium exists in two states in glass, Ce3+ and Ce4+; both states strongly absorb ultraviolet light. In this study, a xCeO2-(100 - x)[50ZnO-10B2O3-40P2O5](x = 1 mol% to 8 mol%) system was synthesized and a variety of physical and optical properties were measured, including density, glass transition temperature, FT-IR, and the location of the UV absorption edge at ~6 mol% CeO. It is observed that the UV absorption edge shift and the physical properties changed with CeO2 contents. |
