제목 Multi-scale Simulation of Linear and Nonlinear Polymeric Liquids under Flow Conditions
초록 Polymers have received much attention in several decades due to extensive usages of their products in the contemporary life style. To obtain the final products, the polymeric materials experience numerous processes under various flow conditions. Hence, understanding the structural and rheological behavior of polymeric liquids in flowing systems is very significant in the polymer processing industry. However, the internal complex structure of polymeric materials prevents further understandings. To facilitate understanding on the structure-property-processing relationship of polymeric materials, the hierarchical, multi-level models, such as molecular dynamics (MD), Monte Carlo (MC), Brownian dynamics (BD), and Kremer-Grest (KG) model, were carried out in this study using linear and nonlinear (e.g., branched and ring) polymeric liquids under shear and elongational flow conditions, and were compared with well-established polymer theories (e.g., Rouse and reptation models).
