Effect of Sustained Release on Doxazosin Masylate from Kind of Various Polymers and Comparison Dissolution Rate |

Doxazosin mesylate has effect on improving the urethra blocking and dysuria by enlargement of the prostate gland as α-blocker. It has 62~69% of bioavailability. This studty demonstrated the sustained release of the doxazosin mesylate from contents of polymers. Tablets were prepared using the direct compression method. The characterization of doxazosin and mixtures was analyzed by SEM, XRD, FT-IR and DSC. SEM was used to confirm the morphology of drug, polymers, and mixtures. XRD was used to analyze the crystallinity of doxazosin and mixtures. FT-IR was used to analyze the change in chemical structure of the doxazosin and mixtures. The dissolution study was conducted to find the characterization of dissolution behavior of the doxazosin mesylate in the simulated intestinal fluid (pH 6.8). In this study, the results showed that the sustained release of doxazosin mesylate was affected by polymer. This research was supported MIFAFF(112007-05-1-SB010) and MEST (2012M3A9C6050203). |
