Seawater Desalination by CO2 Gas Hydrate Technology |

The desalination technologies are mature enough to be a reliable source for fresh water from the sea,althougha significant amount of research and development has been carried out in order to constantly improve the technologies and reduce the cost of desalination. We investigated the potential applications of gas hydrate technologies for more economical desalination processes.The object of this study is to investigate the NaCl removal efficiency from the seawater by CO2 hydrate process. New designed dual cylinder type reactor was used for the seawater desalination and NaCl concentration in the pellets was significantly reduced during the hydrate formation-decomposition stage. |
