Because of the intrinsic wide bandgap of blue OLEDs, the device’s lifetime, color purity and efficiency are lower than those of red and green devices. Therefore, much effort has been made for high efficiency blue OLEDs. In this study, we designed and synthesized host materials for blue organic light-emitting diodes based on carbazole-substituted 5,5-diphenyl-5H-dibenzo[b,d]silole derivatives. Theoretical calculations and experimental results showed that these host materials are suitable for blue OLEDs due to their morphological stability and high triplet energy. |
