Synthesis of poly(ethylene oxide) and PEO-modified [60]fullerene |
초록 |
n-Butyllithium-initiated ring-opening polymerization of ethylene oxide with t-BuOK has been successfully performed in the mixture of dimethylsulfoxide and benzene with a living manner. Not only the molecular weight of the resulting lithium polymeric alkoxide may be readily controlled but also a quantitative chain-end functionalization seems to be achieved. In this regard, we prepared PEO-based macroinitiator for atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) from chain-end functionalization of the polymeric alkoxide using 2-bromopropionyl bromide. The PEO-based macroinitiator was used to modify [60]fullerene via ATRP mechanism using the catalytic system (CuBr, Me6tren). In this presentation we will report the results for the synthesis of water-soluble C60 by surface modification of C60 using PEO-based materials. |
