Synthesis of PEO -b- poly(1-vinyl-2-pyrrolidinone) via RAFT radical polymerization and its use for preparation of iron oxide nanoparticles |

We have successfully synthesized water-soluble poly(ethylene oxide b 1-vinyl-2-pyrrolidinone) using poly(ethylene oxide)-based macroinitiator via RAFT radical polymerization. The RAFT agent was obtained by the reaction of ω-brominated PEO with potassium xanthogenate. The yield for chain-end fictionalization was over 95%mol. Using the RAFT agent and AIBN as an initiator, PEO b- poly(1-vinyl-2-pyrrolidinone) was successfully synthesized in dimethylformamide at 120℃ for 12h. Iron oxide nanoparticles were prepared by stabilization using the result products. In this presentation, we will show the preliminary results. |
