Studies on the electronic and optoelectronic properties of low-temperature solution-processed fibrous phosphorus thin films |

Crystalline red phosphorus has emerged as a promising semiconductor material due to its good stability and cost-effectiveness. However, the widespread application of this material has been hindered by the complicate synthetic procedure that requires the ampoule-based chemical vapor deposition with mineralizing agents. In this study, we firstly report on the synthesis of soluble polyphosphide precursors via a low-temperature and solution-based route, as well as the electronic and optoelectronic properties of the solution-processed fibrous phosphorus thin films characterized by fabricating their field-effect transistors. In addition, since the poly-phosphides can act as capping ligands of various nanoparticles, we could also investigate the synergistic effect between the fibrous phosphorus and nanoparticles on device performances with the nanoheterostructured crystalline fibrous phosphorus thin films in which polyphosphide-capped nanoparticles are embedded. |
