제목 Structural change of i-Motif DNA at various pH conditions in solution
초록 Structural change of i-motif DNA at various pH conditions in solution, which is proton-sensitive DNA molecule based on i-motif conformation, was investigated by SAXS (Small Angle X-ray Scattering) technique. Atomic models of i-motif DNA were applied for understanding correlation of solution structure of the DNA at various pH values. Partially unfolded theoretical model is similar to conformation of mild acidic condition, rather than the fully folded i-motif atomic model. The structural model for i-motif DNA at neutral condition exhibited a distorted M-shaped form that significantly deviated from the relatively compact globular form of i-motif DNA at mild acidic condition. The i-motif DNA in basic solution apparently adopted a fully random coil conformation. Collectively, these facts mean that i-motif DNA molecule is structurally dynamic over a wide pH range, adopting multiple conformations ranging from the folded i-motif structure to a random coil conformation.
