Amino acids are of great importance in many fields, including solid-phase peptide synthesis, agrochemical compounds and biomedical sensors. These applications generally require amino acids to be placed in the form of well-ordered layers on the surface of solid by adsorption. PMOs have remarkable features, such as large surface area, tunable pore size, and modifiable surface properties. These features make PMOs a very promising adsorbent for amino acid. In this study, we have been carrying out adsorption studies of various amino acids to the PMOs. We prepared PMO materials from 4,4-bis(triethoxysilyl)biphenyl, 1,4-bis(triethoxysilyl)benzene and bis[3-(trimethoxysilyl)propyl]amine as precursors and measured adsorption of various amino acids as a guest material. We carried out adsorption studies under various conditions, such as different kinds of PMO, various concentration of amino acid and pH. Adsorption of various amino acids in PMO have been characterized by UV-Vis. and FT-IR spectra. |
