Crystallized silica has excellent chemical and mechanical than amorphous silica. Herein, we prepared crystallized mesoporous silica using alkali-metal ions. We evidenced using various alkali-metal ratios (Si/M: 1.2 to 80), tremendous structure changing after calcinations at various temperature (500~700℃). We observed that some mesostructure has been collapsed and appearing with large pores (90~180 nm) and crystalline SiO2 structure (quartz, cristobalite) while calcinations above 650℃, but the remarkable collapse of mesostructure was not produced at low ratios (i.e. 50 to 80) and didn’t appear crystalline structure. Below 650℃, the crystalline SiO2 structure was not produced despite of the mesostructure was not collapsed. It means that these temperatures were insufficient for crystallization of SiO2. The crystalline mesoporous silica materials may benefit future potential application in the area of high temperature catalysis, adsorption materials and host-guest nanotechnology, etc. |
