제목 Polymer surface modification by directional melt crystallization
초록 In the domain of surface treatment technology, Directional Melt Crystallization(DMC) is a promising method since it is simple step and applicable to various polymers. In our study, we modified various polymer surfaces by DMC. We dissolved polymer surfaces by proper solvents and then crystallized the solvents by directional temperature gradient. Polymer dissolution time was controlled as an important parameter. To control the dissolution time, we used two approach, pre-dissolving and pre-cooling. The former, polymer surfaces were dissolved by solvents before cooling the surfaces. The latter, polymer surfaces were cooled to a certain temperature before dissolution and melt crystallization. As a result, modified polymer surfaces of porous and rough surfaces were successfully prepared. We also confirmed that the hydrophobicity of treated surfaces were increased. With this versatile method, various polymer surfaces can be treated conveniently without complex and delicate processing steps.
