제목 Oxidative carbonylation of alcohols for generating dialkyl carbonates by Se- tertiary amine catalytic system
초록 Dialkyl carbonates (DACs) have attracted intensive attention due to their environmentally benign characteristics as green reagents as well as their wide range of applications such as electrolyte solvents for Li-ion battery.
Dialkyl carbonates can be easily prepared by the reactions of alcohols with phosgene but possess harmful effect to the environment. As alternatives to the phosgenation, several processes have been developed including alcoholysis of urea, carboxylation of alcohols, and oxidative carbonylation. Among these, we researched oxidative carbonylation of 2-methoxyetanol (MEG) using Se-tertiary amine catalytic system and obtained 71.9% yield of bis(2-methoxyethyl) carbonate (BMEC) at optimized condition of this catalytic system. which is the highest yield reported to date.
To find a possible mechanism of this  Se-tertiary amine catalytic system, in-situ IR analysis, FE-SEM measurements, DFT calculations are under investigation.
