Thermal characteristics of graphene-embedded polyimide composite sheets |

Polyimide composites with graphene were prepared, and their thermal properties were characterized in films on substrates or sheets. Graphene loadings were controlled up to 8wt.% or 12wt.% in their composites. The graphene used in this work was prepared by the chemical treatments of graphite. The thermal characteristics of as-prepared polyimide-graphene composite (PIG) films or sheets was carried out on the thermal expansion, thermal conductivity and temperature-dependent stress. The thermal conductivity of the PIG sheets were separately analyzed in the in-plane and out-of-plane directions. Coefficient of thermal expansions were slightly changed with the graphene loading. The thermal conductivities of both directions proportionally increased with graphene loading. Thermal properties of PIG composites will be further discussed. |
