The effect of calcination temperature on the activity of cobalt-based catalyst during Fischer-Tropsch synthesis |

The influence of calcination temperature on the cobalt-based Fischer-Tropsch (FT) catalyst, which is pre-modified with phosphorous component on Al2O3 support (Co/P-Al2O3), has been investigated and compared with that of unmodified Co/Al2O3 catalyst. The Co/P-Al2O3 catalyst was prepared by wet impregnation of cobalt precursor on the pre-synthesized support by using sol-gel method with the addition of phosphoric acid. The both catalysts (Co/P-Al2O3 and Co/Al2O3) were calcined at the temperature range from 100 to 700 ºC. The Co/P-Al2O3 catalyst showed high catalytic performance up to calcination temperature of 700 ºC without severe decline of activity due to the homogeneously distributed small cobalt cluster formation during FT reaction. |
