Acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene resin(ABS) is extensively used due to good mechanical properties, convenient processing and their applications in industry. It is well known that the degradation of plastics materials can be regarded as aging effects occurring during the product life cycle, both degradation in manufacturing processes and aging during product use. In this study, flame-retardant ABS resin was studied a degradation behavior on temperature-time dependent by thermal aging. Degradation behavior was demonstrated as activation energy by TGA using Kissinger’s method. Also, oxidation induction time test is employed to monitor the thermo-oxidative degradation of flame-retardant ABS resin by DSC. Their chemical and physical behaviors were investigated by FT-IR, CL and FE-SEM. These results suggest that can explain the life time and degradation mechanism of flame-retardant ABS through accelerated life test at various temperature conditions. |
