Synthesis and Characterization of sulfur-containing poly(cyclohexyl thioacrylate) with high refractive index |

In this study, new poly(cyclohexyl thioacrylate) (PCTA) containing sulfur atom in polymer chain with high refractive index has been developed as thermoplastics. We synthesized PCTA via free radical polymerization of cyclohexyl thioacrylate (CHTA). Transparent polymer films fabricated by spin-coating from the polymer solution were exhibited high refractive index of 1.55244 at 637 nm and low birefringence of 0.0001. The thermal decomposition temperature of the polymer was in the range of 355-363 oC. |
