Chain-end multi-functionalized polyisoprene will be synthesized by using substituted 1,1-diphenylethylene derivatives with poly(isoprenyl)lithium. Although 1,1-diphenylethylene(DPE) does not homopolymerization, anionic copolymerization with styrene and dienes show us a perfect method for introducing several units of 1,1-diphenylethylene derivatives into the chain end. Herein, 1-(4-dimethylamino- phenyl)-1-phenylethylene, 1,1-bis-(4-dimethylaminophenyl)ethylene, would be used as the multi-functional agents. For this purpose, styrene, 2,3-dimethyl-butadiene would be used as the comonomers considering the low reactivity ratio value to DPE (M2) in hydrocarbon solvents [Styrene(M1): r1=0.7 in benzene; 2,3-Dimethyl- butadiene(M1): r1=0.23 in benzene]. |
