If the output value does not reach the setpoint, the general PID controller increases the output value by giving a high input value. In some cases, there is a system where the output value never reaches the setpoint such as a change in the state of a material. In this case, the controller will continue to give a high input value to reach the setpoint. Because of the system configuration, the output can not reach the setpoint, so a high input value that constantly entered will eventually lead to a waste of energy. To solve this problem, we modified the PID controller by adding new independent variables and applied it to the temperature control system to see that the modified controller could reduce the waste of energy. As a result, the modified controller applied to the temperature control system can reduce the waste of energy by lowering the input value even if offset exists. This control can be applied to other processes as well. |
