Refinement effects imposed on solid DNA cationic lipid complex, and its application to optical waveguide |
초록 |
We fabricated solid thin film composed of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) complexes based on cetyltrimethylammonium (DNA-CTMA). It has been widely used to make DNA soluble in an organic solvent, which then applied in conventional spin coating process to make the optical device. In our study, we improved a refinement process that can reduce the hydroxyl contents significantly, which were confirmed by the FT-IR/Raman spectroscopy. DNA-CTMA film was deposited on a polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) channel to form a ridge waveguide, and confirmed that light transmission efficiency was improved by ~30% for a visible light source. |
