Synthesis of TiO2/PPy-graphene nanocomposites for photocatalytic decomposition of organic pollutants |

Nanocomposite consisting of TiO2/polypyrrole(PPy)-graphene was prepared in order to enhance the photocatalytic performance. PPy was used as electron conducting material, which had excellent electron conductivity and stability. PPy-graphene nanocomposite was used as the functional material to improve the electron conducting from TiO2. The morphology and structure were studied by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and FT-IR. The photocatalytic activity was investigated by UV spectroscopy based on the degradation of model dye. The improved photocatalytic activity was attributed to the effective electron transfer and adsorption of pollutants by PPy-graphene. The nanocomposite is highly expected to be utilized as photocatalyst for decomposition of environmental contaminants. |
