제목 Cultivation of Tetraselmis sp. KCTC12432BP for Microalgal Biomass Production in the Ocean during Summer
초록 Ocean-based microalgal cultures do not need temperature controls because of the small fluctuation in sweater temperature. The seawater temperature rather changes slowly over weeks. During summer, the surface seawater temperature rises up to 25℃, which is above the optimal growth condition for many microalgae.  Growths of three locally isolated microalgal strains at 25℃ were investigated to assess their potentials for microalgal biomass production in the ocean during summer. During 8 days of cultivation, highest biomass productivity of 0.12 g/L/d was obtained from Tetraselmis sp. KCTC12432BP while biomass productivities of other strains were 0.09 and 0.06 g/L/d for Tetraselmis sp. KCTC12236BP and Tetraselmis sp. 12429BP, respectively. Among the strains tested in this study, Tetraselmis sp. KCTC12432BP was most appropriate for biomass production in the ocean during summer.
