Microbial reverse electrodialysis cell (MRC) is an environmental energy system, in which microbial fuel cell (MFC) and reverse electrodialysis (RED) stack are integrated, to generate electricity from organic waste stream and salinity differences of seawater and freshwater. Because it has been recently developed, lab-scale experiments have been performed to date, however, increasing power level from a larger scale of MRCs is very important for its practical implementation. In this talk, we will introduce what has been done in the MRC field and what we have done for increasing power generation of an MRC system in my lab. |
