제목 Hexane droplets stabilized by amphiphilic gold nanoparticle in water
초록 Recent experimental results have shown that inorganic nanoparticles have an ability to stabilize emulsion, similarly to amphiphilic molecules such as surfactant and polymer. In this study, a simple and reliable method is described to produce oil (hexane) droplets stabilized by amphiphilic gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) functionalized with both hydrophilic and hydrophobic ligands in water. The concentration of AuNPs and the surface coverages of hydrophilic and hydrophobic ligands on the AuNP surface are carefully controlled to create the oil droplets in water. The surface coverages are obtained from electrostatic titrations. The oil droplets covered with amphiphilic AuNPs were confirmed by optical microscopies.
