제목 Development of desirable dexamethasone-loaded PLGA wafers containing glycolide monomer for the sustained release
초록 The aim of this study is to develop poly(D,L-lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA) wafers containing glycolide monomer for the continuous delivery of dexamethasone for over two weeks in an effort to suppress the chronic inflammatory reactions like otitis media. The conventional direct compression method was applied to fabricate the wafers. Glycolide monomer was incorporated into PLGA matrix to overcome the lag period and to influence the release of drug. The in vitro release studies were performed in phosphate buffered saline (pH 7.4) at the constant temperature (37℃) under sink condition. From the result of in vitro release test, we could induce the desirable drug release patterns by means of adequate amount of glycolide monomer. In conclusion, glycolide monomers could induce the remarkable drug release and control of lag period of PLGA devices. Further investigation is being carried out to confirm the effect of dexamethasone-loaded PLGA wafers containing glycolide monomer in in vivo.
