제목 Physical properties of Collagen/PVA hydrogel for wound dressing application.
초록 Collagen hydrogel, a well known protein has been widely used in medical application. The main disadvantage of hydrogels is their poor mechanical properties after swelling. In order to eliminate the disadvantage, hydrogels can be modified by physical blending with PVA(polyvinyl alcohol) and PEG(poly ethylene glycol). PVA is applied in all the areas in medicine as skin covers and wound dressing. PEG is non-toxic, odorless, neutral, lubricating, nonvolatile and water soluble. Collagen/PVA-PEG hydrogels have shown the materials to be biocompatible, durable and easy to manufacture. And they are candidates for a wide range of biomaterial applications. In this study the concentration of PEG was in the range of 0.5~5wt%. The physical properties of the hydrogels were investigated.
