Characterization of Water-Treated Platinum Catalyst Supported on Aluminum Oxide for the Preferential Oxidation of Carbon Monoxide |

Water-treated Pt/Al2O3 catalyst was developed for the preferential oxidation of carbon monoxide (PROX). This water-treated Pt/Al2O3 catalyst increased conversion of CO considerably at low temperature compared to the conventional Pt/Al2O3 catalyst. TEM results showed that the average particle size of Pt decreased from 3 nm of the conventional catalyst to 2.3 nm of the water-treated catalyst. This new catalyst seemed to be well resistant to sintering as a result of the highly exothermic oxidation reaction. |
