A novel bolaamphiphilic surfactant composed of β-cyclodextrin and sophorose connected by hexadecane was successfully synthesized by reacting mono-6-amino-6-deoxy-β-cyclodextrin with N-hydroxysuccinimide ester of acidic sophorolipid. Sophorolipid was produced by Candida bombicola fermentation on glucose with hexadecane, and the acidic form was prepared by alkaline hydrolysis. Based on the dual-structure of well-known biosurfactant sophorolipid and host β-cyclodextrin, it has potential for various application in biomedical, cosmetic and environmental field. |
