Here, we fabricated tri-layer type conducting polymer actuator with poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) and poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) composite membrane as solid polymer electrolyte (SPE), and polypyrrole as conducting polymer. PEO and polypyrrole was fabricated via photo and chemical polymerization. The resulting material consists of gradual conducting polymer layer on each side of PEO-PVDF composite SPE. Polymerization condition was optimized by controlling conditions such as concentration of the oxidant and polymerization time. The actuator was demonstrated to exhibit a good candidate for high performance air-operating actuator material. |
