Synthesis and Properties of Acryl-Functionalized Siloxanes by Photopolymerization and Sol-Gel process |

The reactive precursors, mono-, di-acryl functionalized siloxanes, were synthesized. The acryl siloxane monomers were prepared from esterification reaction with allyl alcohol, and followed chemoselective hydosilylation with Pt catalyst. It was shown that the hydrosilylation proceeds two isomers, -CH2-CH(SiR2)-CH3 and -CH2-CH2-CH2-Si(R2). And these monomers reacted by sol-gel process for coating material. The photoinduced radical polymerzation of these monomers was studied and found to be all highly reactive. The formulates containing the synthesized monomers were tested surface morphology and mechanical properties for hard coating application. |
