제목 3D Nanoplasmonic Wells for Maximizing Solution-State Surface-Enhanced Raman Scattering
초록 Surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) has recently been regarded as noteworthy to develop label-free and highly-sensitive sensor. However, conventional SERS substrates require a number of intricate steps and expensive instruments for fabricating regular SERS activation area. In addition, detection of solution samples via universal solid SERS substrates has been challenged because of molecular convection induced by laser irradiation. Herein, we present a novel method for effective solution-state SERS by using three-dimensional (3D) nanoplasmonic wells. Owing to spherical characteristics of the fabricated wells and plasmonic effects of the integrated metal nanoparticles, SERS enhancement was maximized at a specific point in 3D space. We also optimized the SERS effect via the precise control of the volumes and concentrations of the metal precursor solution. Moreover, we demonstrated additional SERS enhancement by injecting a mixture solution of gold nanorods and analytes into the optimized nanoplasmonic wells. We believe that our findings will contribute to develop a universal highly-sensitive SERS detection protocol to detect solution-state molecules.
