In this study, we synthesized polyester ionomers by a two-step melt condensation. In the first step, dimethyl 5-sulfoisophthalate sodium salt (DMSIP) and diethylene glycol (DEG) were synthesized with butylstannoic acid and then in the second step, maleic anhydride (MAH) and phthalic anhydride (PAH) of different molar ratios were synthesized for 4 h. These ionomers was cured using pentaerythritol (PETA) as crosslinking agent and photoinitiator with UV light, and then they were annealed in vacuum oven. The structures of cured membranes were investigated by their FT-IR and 1H-NMR spectra, and basic membrane properties such as ion exchange capacity, water uptake andproton conductivity were measured. |
