Synthesis of new photoresponsive chiral dopant for liquid crystalline based on azobenzene framework |
| 초록 |
New chiral dopant based on azobenzene framework was synthesized from p-hydroxyaniline and aniline. Then, azobenzene framework was attached the amino acid as a chiral group by the esterification and amidification reactions. New azobenzene was doped into some commercial liquid crystal hosts like 5CB and E7. The smectic phase of LC host changed to cholesteric phase. Moreover, helical twisting power of chiral dopant can be changed under UV-Vis irradiation and lead to change of reflection light of cholesteric liquid crystal. |
