Recently, porous materials using the colloidal templating method have been investigated actively due to their high energy storage potential. Among the various conducting polymers, polypyrrole (PPy) has been widely studied because of its intrinsic conductivity and good environmental stability. We fabricated conductive porous PPy films with vapor phase oxidative polymerization using the colloid templating method under ambient conditions. Polystyrene (PS) particles were used as templates. To control the total pore volume, porous PPy films having different pore sizes were fabricated using PS particles with different sizes and the height of the PPy film could be adjusted by the amount of PS particles. Also, the density of the PPy film was influenced by the concentration of the oxidant. IR analysis confirmed the existence of PS and PPy. Inverse opal PPy structure was observed by a scanning electron microscope. This work provides a significance for the future energy storage application. |
