Fluorescence Chemosensor for measuring pH in acidic media |

To develop an optical chemosensor having a wider pH-sensing range, we designed and synthesized a novel push-pull conjugate dye possessing two different amino groups. The photophysical and pH-sensing properties of the dye were investigated by UV-Vis and fluorescence spectroscopy. This dye displayed a pH-dependent absorption change in the acidic pH range, along with a reversible color change from yellow to red with increasing acid concentration. The fluorescence intensity of the dye was increased with increasing pH. These results demonstrate the capability of the dye as a pH indicator and fluorescent sensor in acidic media. |
