제목 Selective Production of Branched and Linear C6 Carboxylic Acids by Megasphaera hexanoica
초록 C6 branched (isovaleric acid) and linear chain carboxylic acid (n-hexanoic acid) are organic compounds commonly found in the flavor of cheese or wine and their esters are applied to various chemicals, such as perfumery, plasticizer, lubricant, and pharmaceutical. This compounds can be biologically produced together by Megasphaera hexanoica (MH). In this study, medium compositions were investigated in order to produce isovaleric acid and hexanoic acid selectively. Significant factors for optimum medium were selected as follows: leucine, acetate and yeast extract. Significant factors were evaluated using central composite model of response surface methodology (RSM) and its results were analyzed by Design Expert®. The medium composition optimized by RSM was verified using the batch reactor and its production performance was improved using process equipped with extractive system.
