In this study, the electrochemical performance of silicon alloy anode with alginate binder was investigated. Compared to the conventional PVDF binder, the anode with alginate binder showed significant improvement in electrochemical performance, such as cyclability and coulombic efficiency. The interaction between the silicon alloy and the funcational groups on the alginate can be responsible for the improved electrochemical performance. Therefore, the alginate binder can be used as an anode binder for high-performance Li-ion batteries. |
