Nitrogen-enriched carbon electrodes fabricated from polyaniline and carbon nanotubes |

Supecapacitors, which possess large power density and long cycle stability, have attracted much interest due to their various applications in many fields. The electrode material for supercapacitors is one crucial part that determines their electrochemical performance. Carbon materials therefore have been considered as a suitable candidate for electrical double layer capacitance (EDLC) because of their high specific surface area, long cycle life and many other excellent properties. Among which, carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are very promising candidates for the electrodes of EDLC due to the large specific surface area, high electrical conductivity and low resistivity. Additionally, the nitrogen-enriched CNTs could improve the specific capacitances by providing more active sites and enhancing pseudocapacitive effects. In this study, we synthesized nitrogen-enriched CNTs based on polyaniline and subsequently their electrochemical performances were investigated. |
