Single process of absorption and mineralization is defined as integration of absorption of CO2 with amine and precipitation reaction in one reactor. This system will provide the offset of energy in conventional amine scrubbing by converting CO2 in moderate temperature condition. As sequestration process of CO2 capture and storage, single process of absorption and mineralization allows CO2 to be stored in stable and economical way as Calcium Carbonate (CaCO3) by injecting calcium sources into the CO2 saturated amine solution. In this study, the effect of various calcium sources such as Calcium Nitrate (Ca(NO3)2), Calcium Chloride (CaCl2), Calcium Acetate (Ca(CH3COO)2), and Calcium propionate (Ca(C3H5OO)2) are investigated in AMP and MEA system. Calcium carbonate as a product will be investigated in terms of crystal structure, size, and surface area. Viscosity, pH, and conductivity of solution in the system were also observed to evaluate the influence in single process system. The effectiveness of the process also investigated through regeneration efficiency and yield. |
