The green energy production and use has become a high priority in the past few years to address the global sustainable energy demand. Supercapacitors are appealing energy storage devices which have characteristics between the conventional capacitors and batteries. Recently, there has been considerable growing attention towards Donor−Acceptor based conducting polymers due to their ability to store both positive and negative charges when they are used in capacitors. Here, we have designed and synthesized three thiophene and 4,7-di(thiophen-2-yl)benzo[c][1,2,5]thiadiazole featured D-A polymers: two homo-polymers (P1, P2) and a copolymer (P3). The chemical structures have been characterized by NMR, MS, and GPC. The electro optical and electrochemical behaviors were also studied by UV-Vis and CV. The electron delocalized/localized in the polymer backbone were determined by DFT study. The GCD measurements were utilized to identify the ideal materials for supercapacitors application. |
