An integrated centrifugal microfluidic device based on colorimetric detection of various pathogens was modified and characterized for colorimetric detection of various microbial pathogens. Microbeads-assisted extraction and purification of bacterial genomic DNA, target DNA amplification and detection were fully integrated. A highly efficient detection method of colour change during target DNA amplification was developed and optimized. The detection of pathogens was demonstrated using this integrated centrifugal microfluidic device.
