제목 One Step Conversion of Furfural to 1,5 Pentanediol over Ni-Co3O4 Oxygen Vacancies
초록 Catalytic hydrogenation of biomass derived C5 compounds produced by hydrogenolysis and dehydration of hemicellulose to produced alcohol and diols chemical, have been received a lot of attention for the development of sustainable industry. Here, one step conversion of furfural to 1,5-pentanediol (1,5-PDO) conducted over Ni-Co3O4-Ov (oxygen vacancies) in liquid phase under H2 pressure. Complete conversion of furfural and 48.5% 1,5-PDO was achieved. Based on H2-TPR and DFT simulation, Ni has role as H2 dissociation site and spillover to Co3O4 to create oxygen vacancies. Oxygen vacancies on Co3O4 was proved by O2-TPD, H2-TPR, and cobalt EXAFS fitting. Adsorption study of furfural, furfuryl alcohol on Co3O4(110) and Co3O4-Ov(110) using DFT calculation was proved that Co3O4-Ov was adsorption site.
