제목 Preparation and properties of porous glass wool separator for improvement of absorbility in lead-acid battery
초록 The main advantage of absorbed glass mat (AGM) lead acid battery in use that the liquid electrolyte solution, sulfuric acid aqueous solution, is absorbed by a very fine fiberglass mat, making the battery spill-proof, which enables shipment without hazardous material restrictions. Moreover, AGM has very low internal resistance, which is capable to deliver high currents on demand and offers a relatively long service life, even when deep cycled. In this study, composite porous separators(Glass-X, X=binder ratio) sereis using glass wool and PTFE binder with high absorption capacity were fabricated. The BET specific surface area, tensile strength, and absorbility of Glass 5 were measured as 1.46 m2/g, 0.86 N/mm2, and 1.02 g/cc respectively.
