제목 Torrefaction study of Waste Biomass and its Kinetic Modeling
초록 This research presents a work on biomass torrefaction performed in a laboratory unit with a reactor tube of a length of 800 mm. The experiments were conducted with food waste and sewage sludge. The reactor was heated to the selected temperature (150 to 600 with 50 degrees span) and the holding time was taken from 0 to 50 minutes (with 10 minutes span). The effect of the raw material, temperature, and residence time on the properties of the torrefied products was studied. The torrefied biomass product is characterized with elemental composition, energy yield, ash content and volatile fraction. The following research also focuses on the kinetic analysis of the biomass torrefaction. Although varied according to the raw material and other parameters, energy yield was found to decrease with increase in temperature while the heating value increased with increase in temperature.
