Abundant flue gases from the steel or power plant emissions should be removed before emitting to the environment. A dry fluid NaHCO3 method is a present efficient process for the desulfurization of SOx. Tons of spent waste produced every day during desulfurization of SOx similar to the production rate. Instead of dumping, the spent waste can be regenerated to avoid ground pollution. The key step in regeneration of spent waste is analysis of salts present. In this present investigation, after filtration of desulfurized spent waste, the Na2SO4, Na2CO3, and NaHCO3 were analyzed in presence of potential interferences. First cationic interference such as NH4+ was checked in determination of Na+ by sodium sensor electrode. In determination of SO42- ion, anionic interferences like HCO3- and CO32- were performed by HACH method. The limit of interference ions was derived through the calibration plot to find out the error levels of ions. |
