Fabrication of a bimetallic catalyst layered anode for direct biogas-fueled SOFCs |

Ni-Co/La2O3-Al2O3 bimetallic catalysts layer for methane reforming was deposited on the anode material for the direct biogas-fueled SOFCs. A mixed ion conductor (BaZr0.1Ce0.7Y0.2-xYbx O3-δ, BZCYYb) was used as the ionic conductor of the anode. The prepared bilayered anode was examined for its electrochemical properties. The prepared BZCYYb electrolyte powder exhibited a nearly spherical shape with an average particle size of several hundred nanometers. The XRD pattern of sintered BZCYYb electrolyte showed phase pure perovskite crystalline structure. The catalytic activity and electrochemical performance of the bilayered anode was evaluated. |
